Welcome to the Wodonga Skills Store
  • Are you looking to re-enter the workforce, pursue a new job, or progress in your career?
  • Do you have skills and experience but no ‘piece of paper’ to prove it?
  • Do you need information on courses or training for employment or career improvement but don’t know where to start?
  • Are you a business looking to increase the skills of your workforce?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above, then a visit to your nearest Skills Store can help you recognise your skills or the skills of your staff and build your future.

About the Wodonga Skills Store
Whether you are already in employment, or if you are unemployed and looking for a way back into the workforce – you are welcome to drop into your local Wodonga Skills Store where you will receive free advice that could secure your future. The only pre-requisite is that you have some existing skills or experience to work on.

These experiences could have been gained from work experience, informal education and training, general life experience, volunteer opportunities, or a combination of these.

The Skills Store has been designed to assist people who may be experiencing difficulties finding employment opportunities within their own community or existing industry – particularly due to the drought. For example, there are numerous skills shortages that people can tap into if they can access suitable re-training.

The aim of the Skills Store is to make that journey less time consuming and more affordable by providing people with an action plan and direct pathway towards a qualification. Once existing skills are formally recognised they may be counted towards a national accredited qualification.

A free service
The aim of the Skills Store is to provide friendly, expert advice on the many opportunities and options available through Victoria’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.

With many years experience in providing training, course development advice and information on a broad range of training programs, our Skills Store staff can provide guidance on how to receive recognition for your skills, update your knowledge or gain the qualifications you need.

You may be eligible for a $250 voucher towards the cost of formal recognition of prior learning through a TAFE or other Registered Training Organisation. So, come and talk to us.

The head office of the Wodonga Skills Store is based within Wodonga TAFE located at 87 McKoy Street, Wodonga. The Skills Store also offers a mobile service, allowing our Consultant to bring the service to you or your workplace!
