Horticulture

Literally meaning the cultivation of gardens. Horticulture today encompasses work in many different fields from parks and gardens to research. Horticultural qualifications are available from Certificate II through to Certificate V.

Why choose horticulture?
General Horticulture can provide you with a wide selection of skills. Horticulture students can choose to learn components of turf, nursery, arboriculture and landscape.

Where it might lead?
Horticulture students can be found in a wide range of careers. These include nursery work both retail and wholesale; parks and gardens work with city and shire councils and work with hospitals and leisure enterprises. There are many completed students now running their own businesses.

Did you know?
This region is renowned for its splendid parks and gardens. Albury City Council itself has over 460 hectares dedicated to parks, gardens and sporting facilities. As a popular tourist region the Albury/Wodonga area prides itself on the quality of its gardens and recreational reserves.
