Essential 2D AutoCAD

(Architectural & Engineering friendly course)

During this course you will learn the basics of CAD using Autodesk’s AutoCAD 2008 software. Through a mix of theoretical and practical classroom sessions you will work towards producing 2D sketch plans and working drawings; these drawings will include linework, dimensions and notations and will be plotted (printed) to drawing sheets at various scales.

Intermediate 2D AutoCAD

(Architectural & Engineering friendly course)

During this unit you will learn further productivity tools and procedures of CAD using Autodesk’s AutoCAD 2008 software. Areas covered include:

  • Layout Space
  • Hatching
  • Dynamic Blocks
  • Block Attributes & Attribute Extraction
  • Fields & Tables
  • Importing/exporting
  • External References
  • Design Centre.

Essential 3D AutoCAD

(Engineering friendly course)

During this course you will learn the basics of 3D CAD using Autodesk’s AutoCAD 2008 software. Through a mix of theoretical and practical classroom sessions you will work towards producing 3D sketch plans and working drawings; these drawings will include linework, dimensions and notations and 3rd Angle Projections

During this unit you will learn the basics of CAD Management. Areas covered include:

  • Layer structure
  • Creating Templates
  • Customising
  • Cad Office standards
  • Inter-office CAD standards transfer

Revit Essentials

(Architectural friendly course)

During this unit you will learn the basics of Parametric Design using Autodesk’s Revit Building 9 software. Through a mix of theoretical and practical classroom sessions you will work towards producing 3D sketch plans and working drawings; these drawings will include linework, dimensions and notations, perspective & orthogonal views and will be plotted (printed) to drawing sheets at scales. Areas covered in the classes will include:

  • Creating projects using suitable line weights, line types and fonts
  • Editing commands
  • Moving around your drawings
  • Dimensioning Adding notations
  • Saving & backing up files
  • Importing and exporting different file formats & drawings
  • Adding drafting views
  • Creating schedules
  • Printing completed drawings to scale.

Revit Intermediate

(Architectural friendly course)

During this unit you will add to your knowledge of Parametric Design using Autodesk’s Revit Building 9 software. Areas covered in the classes will include:

  • Creating multi-use components
  • Creating sheet templates
  • Adding drafting views
  • Rendering 3D views (internal/external)
  • Perspective views
  • Animated Walkthroughs.

Inventor Essentials

(Engineering friendly course)

During this unit you will learn the basics of Parametric Engineering Design using Autodesk’s Inventor R11 software. Through a mix of theoretical and practical classroom sessions you will work towards producing 2D & 3D sketch plans and working drawings; these drawings will include line work, dimensions and annotations and will be plotted (printed) to drawing sheets at scales. Areas covered in the classes will include:

  • Creating drawings using suitable line weights, line types and fonts
  • Editing commands
  • Moving around your drawings
  • Dimensioning your drawings
  • Adding notations
  • Saving & backing up files
  • Adding layers to your drawing
  • Printing completed drawings to scale.

Kitchendraw

(Architectural friendly course)

During this unit you will learn the basics of 3D Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) using Kitchendraw software. Through a mix of theoretical and practical classroom sessions you will work towards producing 2D/3D plans and working drawings; these drawings will include linework, dimensions and notations, renderings, perspective & orthogonal views and will be plotted (printed) to drawing sheets at scales. Areas covered in the classes will include:

  • Editing commands
  • Placing components
  • Moving around your drawings
  • Dimensioning your drawings
  • Adding notations
  • Saving & backing up files
  • Creating Bills of Material & Cutting Lists
  • Printing completed drawings to scale.
