Skills Recognition
What does this mean? Skills Recognition is an 'umbrella' term used at Wodonga TAFE to formally acknowledge skills, abilities and knowledge obtained through previous study, work experience and/or life experiences. Skills Recognition is an assessment process where your skills or prior learning are formally measured against the outcomes set for the course in which you are enrolling. This acknowledgement includes:
Skills Recognition provides identification of the competencies you have already gained. Through the processes of RPL, RCC or CT, people are not required to undertake training in areas where they are already competent. This can save you time and money and your existing skills can be formalised against a qualification. You get the credit you deserve. At Wodonga TAFE we have developed a Recognition process aimed at making it quick and simple and cost effective. At the same time we will provide a process that is valid, reliable and authentic. Wodonga TAFE invites you to explore your Recognition options. Click here for the Skills Recognition Information Guide, which also includes information on fees and charges: (PDF 513 kb). The Skills Kiosk This free service is available to all learners and potential clients of Wodonga TAFE to help you on the path to Recognition. If you decide to enrol in a unit or course then a Recognition fee for that assessment is payable. For more information, read the Skills Kiosk flyer: (PDF 227 kb) or the Skills Kiosk Process for Applicant: (PDF 84 kb). Come and talk to us. We can refer you to the right people to help you convert your valuable formal education, work and life experience into formally nationally recognised skills.
