‘Having been a secondary school teacher for many years teaching maths and science, I was looking for a career change. I was lucky enough to discover interior design at Wodonga TAFE and this is the only regional campus in Victoria that offers this training. My husband has been really supportive and he also completed a later in life career change. Our children are grown up and I thought it was time to do something for myself. I plan to continue at TAFE next year undertaking my Diploma of Arts (Interior Decoration and Design). I have really enjoyed the hands on projects especially those involving home furnishings. I enjoy problem solving and would like to work on small projects within a budget. The course has been a really good starting point for a new career choice.’
