Johnny Rachele (Mooroopna)

Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology

Johnny Rachele

‘At the end of Year 12, I obtained employment in sales at Repco and also worked for a stainless steel contractor and at the NESTLE factory. My goal had been to obtain an electrical apprenticeship but I didn’t get the VCE result I had hoped for. My part-time employment assisted in developing an interest in design and engineering. I went to Open Day at Wodonga TAFE and discovered I could study engineering. I was attracted to this course because of its great pathways to further engineering study at university. I am planning to study mechanical engineering at Swinburne University next year and I am interested in a career in automotive design. I would love to obtain a position as a car designer at Holden or Ford.'
