Resolving disputes

Wodonga TAFE has a resolution procedure in place to resolve most complaints regarding unfair treatment, bullying, harassment and discrimination.

Initially the procedure is an informal process when matters can be resolved quickly through mediation or negotiation. If the informal procedures do not resolve the issue, or the issue is too severe to be managed in this way, formal procedures can be implemented. All matters at this level will involve the CEO in the resolution process.

The principles of Natural Justice and Substantive Fairness apply to all aspects of the resolution process at Wodonga TAFE.

  • Substantive fairness ensures that the outcome is derived after a fair process has occurred.
  • Natural Justice applies to decisions affecting people’s rights and interests. Under these guidelines the person complained about must know what the allegations are and who made them.

All resolution processes are handled confidentially, impartially and sympathetically by someone who is accepted by all parties as impartial within a timely manner.

More information about the process for resolving disputes at Wodonga TAFE can be obtained by contacting the Equity Coordinator by phone on (02) 6055 6662 or email equity@wodonga.tafe.edu.au.
